Parable

Resilience found a girl weeping alone in her room. She asked the girl, “What is the source of this salt water pouring from your eyes?”

And the girl asked in return, “How can I be human without falling apart?”

Resilience asked, “Why are you falling apart?”

And the girl asked in return, “Can you show me a man who can touch my heart without bruising it?”

Resilience asked, “Can you be happy without men?”

And the girl asked in return, “How do I move beyond surviving in a world that isn’t built for me?”

Resilience asked, “Can you hold on, like you always do?”

And the girl asked in return, “If a tree collapses in a forest and no one is around to see it, did it really ever fall?”
